where did time go?!

Wow its been a long time since I've updated! I have no clue where time went! With Christmas everything just got crazy. We had Christmas with my family a week early so everyone could be there, with me and 3 siblings and all 4 of us with spouses and my siblings all with kids its just way too hard to try to get together on Christmas Eve or day! Then we spent Christmas Eve with my fiance Jarid's family! So great to spend time with everyone it was a wonderful Christmas!

Now don't think I have forgotten my journey! I did continue to finish week 2 of the program, when I did weigh myself I was down 2 pounds! Pretty excited about that! The only down fall is I put off working out for a week before Christmas. I also gained one pound back as well. Which honestly for not working out and for having 2 Christmas dinners I didn't think that was too bad! I started on week 3 on Monday and should have ran today but was home sick with the flu! Hopefully it's the only time this season! I will get back on track tomorrow and run Thursday and Friday to finish the week!

So I found a wedding dress on Monday!!! We ordered it and it should be in the end of March or so! I am so excited! It is everything I thought I didn't want, poofy, and sparkly! But it just fit me and its gorgeous! :) when they took my measurements I was overall 2 inches down from when I started working out too! BUT I was between 2 dress sizes and need to lose a full inch in my waist for the smaller size. We ordered the smaller size which means no slacking on working out! I would much rather it be too big and have to be taken in than too small!!

In other news hopefully the whole healthy diet thing will soon get easier! Living with Jarid it is always a struggle, he is all about junk food and grease! I swear he would eat out every meal if he could! I've managed to go since Thanksgiving with no pop or sugary drinks of any kind and cut back on sweets in general. Also have cut back portion sizes a little but still not eating the best kind of foods. But Jarid has decided as of the first of the year to lose some weight himself so that means not as much junk in the house! Yay! Now hopefully we can kind of help each other out. The only thing that worries me is since men typically lose more weight faster than women, I'm gonna get a little discouraged from time to time. I just hope I stick to it! At least I have surrounded myself with people that can encourage me along the way. One of my friends Kim is also on the same workout schedule as I am. We text each other to make sure we aren't slacking and it definatly helps me get my butt off the couch when I don't want too! Then there is my SIL (sister-in-law) Ashley. She has been on a weight loss journey since this summer. She had my niece Griffyn in May and prior to becoming pregnant she had lost some weight. Now here she is 7 months since Griffyn was born and as of today SEVENTY FOUR (yes 74!) Pounds less than her heaviest. I am sooooo unbelieveably proud of all that she has accomplished! And she is not stopping until she makes he ultimate goal! If that isn't motivation and inspiration I don't know what is! All summer long she went biking and running (the same running program I am doing Couch 2 5K) and no real diet, she just eats smaller portions of everything she loves! If she can do this, so can I and anyone that puts their mind to it. Its all about motivation, and sticking to it, even if you don't feel like it or you aren't getting the results you think you should get instantly. Its a JOURNEY for a reason. Like Ashley always says in her blog, "the weight didn't come on in a day so it isn't going to come off in a day" I'm so glad I have her to inspire me!

Well that is all for today! I'm off to sleep to get up for work tomorrow and hopefully feel better! G'night all!

Week 2 Day 1!!

So today marks the start of week 2 of this running adventure! Was not motivated at all to do it today, but i made myself get up and go do it! and surprisingly it wasn't even that bad! and as always after, i felt awesome! it makes ya wonder what it is that keeps us from doing something that is so good for us especially when we feel so good after we do it! it's just so easy to convince ourselves that there is something better to do or something we would rather be doing (this is always my case) But oh well, I am determined now and thats all that matters, its just sad that it has taken me this long to get that way! Today was suppose to be weigh in day... but i completely forgot about it when i got up (always better to weigh before you eat anything for the day, the numbers are always more impressive hehe) So hopefully i will remember in the morning and hopefully i will have some good numbers to report! So i guess that means i'll be back tomorrow with my workout update! have an awesome day!

Day 1

So today started the beginning of my workouts! I started the couch 2 5k program again, and it wasn't that bad! The first week is only 60sec running/90sec walking alternating 8 times, but every other time I've tried to do the program its seemed like torture, and today it really wasn't bad at all! I've decided since I have Mondays and Tuesdays off work I am going to do my workouts on Mon, Tues and Fri every week, mainly because I work till 7 on wed and thurs and only till 5 on fri. I work 30 mins away from home and by time I get home after working till 7, forget it I'm ready for a bath and bed! Well I'm up way past my bedtime and only writing because I can't sleep but I guess its time to make myself! I will keep it up tomorrow by doing day 2 of week 1 in the program! G'night!

Time to get serious!

so i am completely new to the blog thing so i am sure this will be a huge rambling mess so anyone that decides to read. just bare with me! First and foremost, you must learn that i am a terrible speller, so please dont judge on that. also most of my posts will probably be composed via phone, so punctuation, capitalization and such will probably also suck, BUT i am doing this blog for MY benefit to destress and keep myself accountable, not for anyone elses benefit. have you choose to follow and happen to get inspiration, motivation, or a good laugh out of it, so be it! happy to oblige!

so i am starting a new journey for me this week (well actually started the monday before Thanksgiving but adding to it this week) i am getting serious about losing weight and getting healthy. first things first, i realize that i am not from any prospective a huge person, but having been one of those girls that thought i would never have to worry about exercising or watching my weight, the fact that i've gained 30+ pounds in the last 5 years is pretty huge to me. i am getting ready to marry the love of my life and best friend in september 2012 and it was a slap of reality when i went and tried on wedding dresses. the moment she told me the size i would need to order. my jaw all but fell off. 4 sizes bigger than what my bridesmaids dress was for my brothers wedding just 3 years ago. also yes i realize that wedding dress sizes are screwy but just hearing numbers in your head its hard to rationalize this. so anyways now my weight loss journey begins, my goal? to lose at least 10 pounds by January 10th so i can order a smaller wedding dress size! my ultimate goal? to be minus 25 pounds by my wedding day! (no worries dress WILL have corset back so it will still fit!) i know for some people that seems like no big deal, but i am a girl that worked on exercising all summer long only to gain 5 pounds... but i wasnt as motivated as i am now and i also didnt change my diet at all.

now i will say this up front so there is no false info here... i am taking supplement pills. i started taking Advocare LeptiLean 2 weeks ago. it is an herbal product designed to trigger your "feel full" hormones, as well as boost your metabolism. i have a huge problem with portion contol and knowing when enough is enough, and the LeptiLean has definitely helped me with that! now some people might think thats the "easy" way through this, but i am not stopping there, it is merely a tool to help me get on the right track and i will not take them forever.

tomorrow is day 1 of this new adventure, i will be doing different exercises 3 times a week (mostly cardio so strength to get toned too!) and making healthier choices with my diet! i am a HUGE meat/potatoes/sweets girl! and i have already cut out pop from my diet! anyone who knows me knows that is a huge feat! i use to drink 5+ pops a day!

well i am excited to start to see the changes in my life and see what progress will be made! i am so thankful for the motivation (my wedding) that has inspired me to be the best i can be!
